Have you ever found yourself in a kind of funk? For one reason or another, you can’t seem to get any positive momentum, you know what you should be doing but just don’t have the motivation to do it?
Both Dionne and I definitely do.
You may find yourself in this state of mind for a while not knowing what you should do to get out of it.
That’s why we came up with the Quick Wins Chart.
Quick Wins Chart: 25 Days of Small Actions That Make a BIG IMPACT
There is no shortage of “positivity hacks” to help get you into a more positive mindset. Different techniques, exercises, and thought processes to help reshape your outlook.
These can work better for some than others.
In trying different methods, the ones I’ve found work best are those based around challenges or actions. These help in that they get you out of your normal routine, giving you something new to try.
The ones that worked best, were those I knew I should already be doing.
Actions that spoke to the person I want to be that in turn triggered a positive change in my mindset.
- Catching up with friends/family
- Cooking a healthy meal
Small, simple actions that when taken together would start to inspire me to take more actions. Sparking some much-needed momentum and becoming the positive inspiration I needed to boost my mood, my mindset and ultimately get out of that funk!
How To Use The Quick Wins Chart
Every day for 25 days choose an action. As you use an action cross it off the chart.
It’s up to you when you want to pick the action but I find it helps to choose it the night before. By doing it the night before it sets your intent and gives you direction for the following day.
Some of the tasks in the chart are morning specific (ie. drink a glass of lemon water first thing) while some are at night (ie. going to sleep earlier), but the majority can be done whenever you want.
I find that when possible, doing these things in the morning seems to work best. The day has a tendency to take a life of its own. Having that one task you completed for yourself can help to keep you in a positive frame of mind.
Small Actions Leading To Big Impact
After looking at the chart you may be wondering how these small actions can help overcome the resistance you’re feeling.
Thinking that they’re just a drop in the bucket.
Believe me, I know. I thought that too. How would making my bed in the morning help to make me feel more positive?
But you know what happened when I made my bed? I saw some clothes in the corner of the room, picked those up and put them in the hamper. Then I decided that since they were in the hamper I should do the laundry.
But those clothes had been sitting there for days and I had been putting off doing the laundry for a while.
I chained one small task to another.
AND THAT’S THE POWER OF THESE QUICK WINS.
They may seem so small as to not make an impact, but they cultivate a mindset that breaks down the resistance you feel.
By going through these Quick Wins for 25 days you’re going to be chaining together at LEAST 25 positive actions which will definitely help in creating positive momentum.
But even better is that I know each of the 25 actions has the potential to trigger in you the creation of even more.
Just like when I crossed off making my bed;
- then decided to pick up my clothes
- which led to doing the laundry
- ultimately completing a chore that I never look forward to doing( I mean who LIKES doing laundry?)
Which all = a tidy room and imparting a sense of accomplishment, positivity and the desire to do even more.
